Driven by our passion for contributing to a better future, our many engagements and programmes with civil society and business stakeholders enable and support the creation of Freeport Saldanha as an inclusive and sustainable economic catalyst. Together, we can contribute to Saldanha Bay’s transformation – from a fishing village to a thriving city built on a maritime economy – in the next 20 years, creating prosperity for all who live and work here.

Skills Development Programmes

Our Skills Development Programmes focuses on enabling and empowering through a collaborative approach to upskilling.

The programme is facilitated through a civil society partnership with the Community Skills and Training Committee and in conjunction with our partners at the DTI, CHIETA and MERSETA who assist with the facilitation and funding.

SMME Development Programmes

We are working together to shape a vibrant marketplace where local enterprises and contractors are business-ready, able to participate in and benefit from the new opportunities created by Freeport Saldanha.

We are utilising our in-depth knowledge, specialised expertise and a comprehensive understanding of the industry and investors’ requirements to build a business community that is appropriately equipped to deliver world-class services to the global maritime industry.

Community Engagement

To ensure the long-term success and sustainability of Freeport Saldanha, as well as the betterment of the community and its future generations, we follow a collective partnership and innovative socio-economic cooperative agreement with local and provincial government. The purpose of this collaboration is to troubleshoot some of the complex challenges that present itself in the community of Saldanha Bay.
